Mobilegeddon is the nickname of Google’s newest Earth-shattering megabomb, a piece of technology so widespread and damaging that no webmaster can go on without dealing with the consequences.
Well, that’s what you’d think if you read SEO journals, anyways. In reality, it’s not quite so potent or so damaging. It’s also been in the works for months now, ever since February, so it’s of no surprise to anyone who pays attention to these things.
Before I get into the famed Mobilegeddon and how to deal with it, I just want to say something to the people likely reading this.
Why do you do this to yourself? You clearly care enough about SEO to be watching SEO blogs and journals. Yet in this case you’ve had months of direct indications from Google, and years before it of great advice from SEO professionals, telling you how to avoid these exact issues. It would never be a problem, except you put off dealing with the potential issue until it becomes an immediate problem.
In all seriousness, it’s possible to recover from Mobilegeddon, and it’s easier than you might think.
