What would you say is unique and/or challenging about the Austin SEO industry?

“Austin’s SEO industry is one of the most competitive in the country and we’re competing with over 480 registered digital marketing agencies. Because of this, many clients’ niches already have established competitors, making SEO a more expensive strategy and a labor-intensive task that needs consistent hard work to achieve any success.”

How does your agency stand out in a crowded market like Austin?

“Having started as a team that supports internal software marketing projects, our group is uniquely situated to solve specific problems other agencies are unable to address for clients.”

Can you share a success story from a local SEO campaign centered around the Austin area?

“ATXcursions.com is a local excursions company providing brewery tours and river float trips. It’s a lucrative and competitive market. Over the past year, we have achieved top rankings for over 100 money terms for this client. They now dominate their SERP.”

What is the best advice you ever received in business?

“Things in business feel the hardest just before they become easy. Don’t give up, push through the bumps and you’ll get where you are going.”

What do you think is the most important quality that makes an agency truly great?

“Not hiring and training inexperienced marketers ensures our team won’t be filled by junior marketers trying to teach junior marketers. This is a huge issue with most agencies today. Only hiring talented professionals who have achieved success on their own ensures an agency team doesn’t fall into the trap if being a bunch of ‘yes men’ who forget about innovation for their clients.”

Any predictions for the future of SEO?

“Focus on topical relevance and producing highly valuable content, clustered around relevant topics are what will continue to dominate strategy for the time being.”

What is your reaction when you hear that “SEO is dying”?

“SEO is changing, not dying. No longer can your techy cousin or ‘friend who does websites’ hack together a few things over the weekend and achieve rankings. SEO is a professional service that’s crucial to long term business success.”

What do you think is the most important contributor to keeping clients happy?

“Increasing their revenue is all we care about.”
