Need Help With Your SEO?

We’re excited to have talked to Baltimore SEO expert Anita Schott from G3 Group Agency for the next installment of our Featured SEO Expert Series! G3 Group is one of SEOblog’s Top SEO agencies in Baltimore.

Anita Schott is the founder and a working partner at G3 Group Agency, LLC. As a marketing strategist, Schott spends time developing strategies to meet client goals through SEO, SEM and social media.

The G3 Group is a boutique digital marketing agency focused on developing powerful messages. Its services include web design, SEO and SEM. G3 Group services local businesses in Baltimore as well as others throughout the United States.

  1. What would you say is unique and/or challenging about the Baltimore SEO industry?

“The Baltimore SEO industry is very competitive with a strong focus on local search results. Like most other cities, the marketplace has strong competition for a new website that may be trying to break into the mix. In order to rank for competitive key phrases, SEO takes time and that is not always something small businesses have when it comes to marketing.”

  1. How does your agency stand out in a crowded market like Baltimore?

“At the G3 Group, we specialize in small to medium businesses. And, because SEO takes time to see results we focus a blended marketing approach – providing clients with a mix of social, local  and SEM while we optimize their website. This gives them an opportunity to start getting leads and sales right from the start.”

  1. Can you share a success story from a local SEO campaign centered around the Baltimore area?

“Maryland Tub & Tile is a home improvement contractor in the Baltimore area. Initially, the company advertised their business through an online yellow page service. Since all similar contractors were listed together, each one shared in a portion of the clicks. When we began marketing for this client, we completely revamped their website and structured it to focus on one niche. We dropped the yellow page services and added SEO and SEM services. It didn’t take long for this client to go from a less than 2% goal completion ratio to over 7%. Today, the client ranks for hundreds of long tail keywords in both organic and local search.”

  1. What is the best advice you ever received in business?

“I guess the best advice I ever received was to do what you love but learn how to charge a fair price for what you do. Sometimes this is easier said than done.”

  1. What do you think is the most important quality that makes an agency truly great?

“Attention. There are far too many agencies out there that sign on clients with lofty promises that are never kept. This gives the entire industry a bad rap. SEO is not rocket science but it does require knowledge, continual attention and hard work to gain meaningful results.”

  1. Any predictions for the future of SEO?

“SEO has always been a moving target. As search engine algorithms and the face of search evolves, so does SEO. More technologies entering the marketplace (voice search, video, etc.) will be the catalyst for change in the way SEO is useful.”

  1. What is your reaction when you hear that “SEO is dying”?

“Don’t follow the herd … think for yourself. SEO as we knew it 10 years ago is dead. But, it has transformed into a suite of services that has surpassed the keyword research and meta tagging of years ago. I predict it will continue to transform for as long as there are search results.”

  1. What do you think is the most important contributor of keeping clients happy?

“Help clients clearly understand what you are promising and then over-deliver on what you promise.”
