SEOblog Interview: New York City SEO Expert Marcus Becker from Mimvi SEO

We’re excited to have interviewed New York City SEO expert Marcus Becker from Mimvi SEO for the next installment of our Featured SEO Expert series!

Mimvi SEO is one of SEOblog’s Top SEO companies in New York City.

Mimvi SEO is a leading digital marketing agency that delivers unmatched SEO results for our clients. We dominate your brand online and focus on true return on investment (ROI) for your business. We work with companies of all sizes, building their brand online and generating leads with laser-focused SEO and digital marketing services.

What would you say is unique and/or challenging about the New York City SEO industry?

“The New York industry is challenging for many reasons. New York City is such a diverse and competitive marketplace. Every street you walk down has handfuls of businesses competing in all different industries. No two businesses, even two within the same industry, are the same, and for that exact reason, their SEO and marketing strategies should not be the same. On our end, it requires at least a baseline understanding of the industry and the particular business in order to develop an effective SEO plan that will improve the organic ranks of the business’s website.

“In addition, these are highly intelligent business owners that need things done the right way the first time, and quickly.  Many have been around the block a few times with different SEO companies and have a general idea of what we do and how we do it. Assuring busy business owners that we can do the job and do it well, while also conveying the message that SEO is a long-range strategy, can be difficult from time to time.”

How does your agency stand out in a crowded market like New York City?

“Everyone is so busy in New York, and they don’t have time to interview 10 companies before making a decision. So we stand out by executing our SEO plan for ourselves, ranking high – if not first – for all SEO keywords in New York so that our clients can find us. When we are able to outrank other SEO experts, clients have faith that we can help them outrank their competitors as well.

“In addition, we conduct extensive audits and consultations to truly learn how the business operates, where it currently stands and what its goals are for the future. This allows us to put a personalized plan together than assures the business owner we have their best interest in mind and have the knowledge and expertise to execute.”

Can you share a success story from a local SEO campaign centered around your area?

“We work with a large video production company in New York City. When the campaign began, the company was nowhere to be found on Google despite being an established and successful business. Currently, the company ranks in the top three spots in Google’s organic ranks for all keywords included in the campaign. Their visibility is up 100 percent, they’re ranking in number-one spots and their website is converting high-end clients and dialed in for even more success.”

What is the best advice you ever received in business?

“Think big; never limit yourself on what you can achieve in life.”

What do you think is the most important quality that makes an SEO agency truly great?

“Dedication and passion. Without being passionate about helping businesses thrive online and wholly dedicated to that cause, an agency will fall flat and will undoubtedly leave its customers just as unenthused as they are.”

Any predictions for the future of SEO?

“SEO has evolved, and has been for the last few years. I do not think the core idea of being well-optimized for user search will ever end; this will always be highly invested in. What is dying is the ability to manipulate Google and search engines quickly and to come out at top. There are a lot more pieces to the puzzle right now for SEO – we all want the top result and most popular site. Google’s alogormis are constantly improving and learning inorder to provide the best results, and SEO experts need to be on top of their game to keep their clients at the top.”

What is your reaction when you hear that “SEO is dying”?

“While SEO is constantly changing (and I mean constantly), I cannot imagine it ever “dying,” at least so long as consumers use the internet to find suggestions on where to shop, where to eat and whom to hire for particular services. Without SEO, there would be no search engines and a whole lot of disgruntled consumers. SEO will evolve but it will remain a valued business service.”

What do you think is the most important contributor to keeping clients happy?

“Results, of course. But just as important is constant communication. Over the years, I have learned that communication is truly key. We could do the same job for two different clients, but if we are in constant communication with one and infrequent communication with the other, the client we regularly speak to will undoubtedly be happier. Clients want to know we are here for them, we are listening to their needs and we are executing on our plan for ranking success.”
