Need Help With Your SEO?

We’re excited to have talked to Orlando SEO expert Kaitlyn Study from South Street & Co. marketing agency for the next installment of our Featured SEO Expert Series!

South Street & Co. is one of SEOblog’s Top SEO agencies in Orlando.

Study is the owner and creative director of South Street & Co. After two and a half years of marketing for a dermatologist and growing the practice to double the locations, she was inspired to help other local service-based businesses thrive.

With all the knowledge and success she acquired, Study opened her marketing agency in March 2014. Since then, South Street & Co. has helped local businesses reach new heights with their marketing. Her very first client continues to be a client today.

What would you say is unique and/or challenging about the Orlando SEO industry?

“There are a lot of little areas around Orlando that are important to remember in addition to the general “Orlando” search area. There’s also a lot of competition in Orlando too as many people are competing for the coveted first spot.”

How does your agency stand out in a crowded market like Orlando?

“The marketing that we do for our clients is the marketing that we do for ourselves too. Our portfolio also showcases our style and how we’ve been able to help a diverse set of clients.”

Can you share a success story from a local SEO campaign centered around the Orlando area?

“Yes! We’re helping a client in the legal space get in over 60 leads per month. They started out with a great reputation online but didn’t do any SEO or online marketing. Their goal was to increase their online presence through SEO. We designed their website first and then, once that was launched, moved full-speed ahead into their SEO plan. They had quite a bit of competition but gradually, over almost two years their site views have increased, phone calls have increased together with their online form fills!”

What is the best advice you ever received in business?

“When you first start out, fresh out of college, join one professional group and join one personal group – a hobby group. It can be hard to meet people outside of school, so doing this helped me meet a lot of great people and it also helped me surround myself with like-minded professionals.”

What do you think is the most important quality that makes an agency truly great?

“Communication and results. I feel communication is absolutely key to the success of an agency. If you communicate results, expectations and anything
else that’s essential to the client, they’re going to appreciate it, understand it and stick with you in the long-term, which is our goal!”

Any predictions for the future of SEO?

“There are a lot of changing things. Google My Business got an upgrade and voice search is going to increase in popularity too! I also think recognition of photos will increase in the future, too!”

What is your reaction when you hear that “SEO is dying”?

“I don’t believe it for one minute. Everyone now “Googles” everything. Google is so integrated into people’s lifestyles I don’t think SEO is going anywhere. The methods for practicing SEO or best practices will definitely change and, who knows, they could change drastically in the future. For now, anyone who’s not utilizing SEO for their business is missing out on opportunities.”

What do you think is the most important contributor to keeping clients happy?

“I’m going to repeat that communication is crucial in business. We know that SEO takes time, but clients don’t always want to wait to see it work and that can be difficult for both our team and our clients to work through . We try to set realistic expectations up front to let people know that this won’t happen overnight — but if they stick with it, it will bring them great results!”
